Many webmasters cloak their affiliate links so that their referrals must use those cloaked links rather than just copying the original, uncloaked links into their browsers' address bars while leaving out the affiliate IDs. For example, if the affiliate link is Download Dollars, many readers will right click the link and then click on "copy link location" in the right-click menu. They then paste the link http://www.payloadz.com/rs/go.asp?rs_id=18601 into their address bar and then delete the "rs/go.asp?rs_id=18601" portion so that they surf directly to http://www.payloadz.com/ without giving you credit for the referral. Therefore it is a good idea to cloak your affiliate links. If your web host does not provide PHP, you can use a service such as tinyurl.com to cloak your links. But if your host allows you to execute PHP programs, you should implement Steve Dawson's Jump script. You will find it on www.stevedawson.com/article0006.php.
